A team of consultants led by international Lead Financial Expert Kairat Shalabay and local PFI Relationship managers Jamilya Saidova and Shuhkrat Komilov organized introductory trainings for the staff of PFI bank branches in the framework of the Climadapt project. These trainings provided information on the project criteria, loan processing, appropriate innovative technologies and marketing activities of Climadapt project. They took place in February and July 2016 in the PFI branches in Khujand, Dushanbe, J. Rasulov district and Kurgan-Tube.
To date, more than 200 bank staff participated in this training from Eskhata Bank, HUMO and Imon International, which substantially improved the level of knowledge and gained new skills for implementation of the Climadapt project.
Advanced training on ClimAdapt was the next level of training carried out for Imon and Eskhata Bank in August 2016. This training aimed to: a) introduce the program to employees that had not received any training on ClimAdapt, and b) introduce the project finance methodology used by PC based on real Tajik cases. Topics included review methodology, analysis of Investment Projects - PBP, NPV and IRR as well as utilization of investment analysis techniques on actual sub-projects.
On 21st and 28th July 2017 the Climadapt Team organized its next Technology Workshops on innovative climate resilience technologies dedicated to the Equipment Modernization, which can generate significant reduction of energy consumption and electricity bills, improve efficiency and quality of products. Approximately 50 representatives of SMEs, NGOs and Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) from both Sogd and Khatlon regions participated in the workshops.
