With the first loan disbursed in July 2016, Climadapt celebrated its 1000th sub-loan just six months later! Climadapt project celebrates this milestone together with all three PFIs, we are grateful for their dedication and for the support from donors and partners! Facility already impacted more than 1000 households and entrepreneurs in rural and urban areas of Tajikistan. The 1000th loan was disbursed to a small farmer located in a Tursunzoda district of Khatlon region to build an energy and water efficient greenhouse for growing tomatoes. These types of greenhouses are specially designed with two layers of plastic cover and include a drip irrigation system to guarantee both energy and water savings and improved productivity. Climadapt continues supporting the uptake of technologies that improve use of water, energy and land resources in order to build the climate resilience of the Tajik agriculture, business and residential sectors.
On 21st and 28th July 2017 the Climadapt Team organized its next Technology Workshops on innovative climate resilience technologies dedicated to the Equipment Modernization, which can generate significant reduction of energy consumption and electricity bills, improve efficiency and quality of products. Approximately 50 representatives of SMEs, NGOs and Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) from both Sogd and Khatlon regions participated in the workshops.
