The Climadapt team successfully organized the technology workshops on "Drip irrigation for gardens and greenhouses" in Khujand and Qurgonteppa cities respectively. About 100 farmers and agribusiness owners from the districts and villages of Sughd and Khatlon regions, as well as representatives of PFIs and non-profit organizations participated in these workshops.
Umed Sharipov, an experienced agricultural technology expert, delivered a presentation on drip irrigation technology, its financial payback, and economic viability in Tajikistan. He presented specific examples from his experience and highlighted the main benefits of drip irrigation technology, including reduced water consumption, lower use of labor and fertilizer as well as increased yields. Drip irrigation systems are gaining popularity in Tajikistan, and farmers are interested to use it for planting various crops.
Workshop participants also had the opportunity to visit demonstration sites of orchards and greenhouses where drip irrigation systems have been installed. Farmers were able to see drip irrigation systems in use and discuss technical details with demo plot owners.
Representatives of the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan, suppliers Wilo Pump Tajikistan, Real Plast and Vakhdat Plast, also participated in the workshop.

On 21st and 28th July 2017 the Climadapt Team organized its next Technology Workshops on innovative climate resilience technologies dedicated to the Equipment Modernization, which can generate significant reduction of energy consumption and electricity bills, improve efficiency and quality of products. Approximately 50 representatives of SMEs, NGOs and Partner Financial Institutions (PFIs) from both Sogd and Khatlon regions participated in the workshops.
